CUSTOMER TESTIMONIAL:

"Being an 'experienced' rider and having logged 300k miles in 12 years, I'd never have expected to learn as much as I did. Mark and his staff kept me focused and intrigued from the first second. The [Overland Confidence] course was two days and was action packed the entire time. I thought I had the skills needed to ride confidently on and off road. I guess the saying 'You don't know what you don't know' is true. I had no idea how little I knew and how much I was capable of."

Overland Confidence Course

Dual-sport motorcycle enthusiasts, are you ready to take your skills to the next level? We can show you! These bikes are meant to be driven both on the street and off-road, so you can do some real exploring. MotoMark1 has developed a special program to show you how to get the best out of your dual purpose bike, whether it's a Triumph Tiger Explorer, a Suzuki DR 200 or anything in between. We'll give you instruction for driving on the scenic routes in the mountains of North Carolina and Tennessee and then we'll take you on fire roads and trails for instruction off-road.

This course will be held in the heart of The Great Smoky Mountains with base camp at the popular Iron Horse Motorcycle Lodge in Stecoah, NC. This two day course offers an exciting program of on and off road training and includes your lodging and meals. You will hone your skills on a variety of the most beautiful and well-known routes in the western Carolina-eastern Tennessee area, including the Cherohala Skyway and many miles of beautiful, remote Nantahala National Forest dirt roads.

Experience the Power of MotoMark1 training

Students are provided a significant amount of personal “hands-on” instruction. We use "instructor to student" communications and HD video critiques which adds special insight to your individual skills. You will learn cutting-edge skills from a team of expert instructors with decades of real-world experience!

We'll begin on Sunday evening at 6:00 pm with dinner and a "meet and greet" where you'll get the chance to meet your instructors and fellow students. Then we begin bright and early Monday morning in the Iron Horse Media center before we head out for the street portion of the course. We'll make stops along the way for roadside instruction and to enjoy the beautiful scenery around us . For a sneak peak at the challenging off road portions, we will start with some mild off road training that will lead us into Tennessee. We'll head for base camp along the Cherohala Skyway and once we've arrived we'll spend time reviewing our journey. We'll all have dinner together and kick tires about the day.

Experience Water Crossings

Tuesday morning after breakfast, we'll be back on the paved road to learn how to handle more technical curves. After some fun on the pavement it'll be time to head for the hills and some challenging off road training. You can expect the unexpected on these remote back roads in the Nantahala National Forest. Again, with breaks planned throughout the day, you'll have time to review and enjoy the beauty around you.

Your training includes:

- Transitional maneuvering strategies on mountain roads and trails
- Fully equiped support vehicle
- Instructor to student communication
- Individualized High Definition video critiques
- 3 nights lodging and meals at Ironhorse Motorcycle Lodge

Due to the amount of personal instruction provided by our instructors, class size is limited to 6 students. If you're interested in renting a dual sport motorcycle to take the course, we recommend GSM MotoRent located in Townsend, TN, just south of Knoxville and west of Gatlinburg.
