"Being an 'experienced' rider and having logged 300k miles in 12 years, I'd never have expected to learn as much as I did. Mark and his staff kept me focused and intrigued from the first second. The [Overland Confidence] course was two days and was action packed the entire time. I thought I had the skills needed to ride confidently on and off road. I guess the saying 'You don't know what you don't know' is true. I had no idea how little I knew and how much I was capable of."

Overland Confidence Courses

Adventure motorcycle enthusiasts, are you ready to take your skills to the next level? Dual-sport bikes are meant to be driven on the street and off-road, allowing you to explore everywhere. MotoMark1 has developed a special program to teach you how to get the most out of your dual purpose bike. We'll give you instruction for driving on the scenic, twisty roads in the heart of the North Carolina mountains, then we'll tackle different types of terrain to hone your off-road skills.

Students receive a significant amount of personal hands-on instruction. We use instructor-to-student communications and HD video critiques which adds special insight to your individual skills. You will learn cutting-edge techniques from a team of highly skilled instructors with decades of real-world experience!

Enjoy the beauty of the mountains!

Hampton Inn Brevard

Students can check in the day before and get a good night's sleep on us at the Hampton Inn Brevard. We'll start the next morning in the conference room where you'll get the chance to meet your instructors and fellow students. We're in the classroom for a short power point presentation; afterwards we review some static hands-on training and then head out on the open road. We'll learn how to handle technical curves and after some fun on the pavement, it'll be time to head for the hills and some challenging off-road training. You can expect the unexpected on these remote back roads. We'll make stops along the way for instruction, a little lunch and to enjoy the beautiful scenery around us. We'll head back to the Hampton to rest and prepare for the next day.

Base camp Iron Horse MC LodgeDay 2 begins with a twisty tour through the North Carolina Mountains as we depart Brevard, NC and head to the Iron Horse Motorcycle Lodge for our next night's stay. When we arrive we will have a class that will cover trail-side maintenance repairs and recommendations on packing your bike for adventure touring. We will review basic techniques and continue with training on and off-road in more challenging and technical terrain. Class will continue after dinner as we venture out and introduce you to night training. You'll learn how to read shadows, roads and where to strategically place auxiliary lighting on your motorcycle for maximum benefit. Your third night's lodging is included as we recommend you travel home after a good night's rest.

Greaty scenery along the way

Your training includes:

  • Transitional maneuvering strategies on mountain roads and trails
  • Instructor-to-student communication
  • Individualized High Definition video critiques
  • 3 nights lodging

Due to the amount of personal instruction provided by our instructors, class size is limited. If you're interested in renting a dual sport motorcycle to take the course, please contact us at If we don't have something available, we'll make a recommendation.
